Do you have relatives or acquaintances in Japan?

How to answer in Japan

⚠ Teachers in Nepal sometimes tell students to answer “no” even when they do have relatives here, to avoid follow-up questions. It does not work. The immigration application form has a section for family living in Japan — uncles and aunts are named on it — and a false statement on that application is grounds for your status of residence to be revoked. Answer honestly.

⭕️ A good answer

Yes, I have an uncle. He works in Tokyo.
